Florence here we come....

Here at the Knitting Academy, we like to keep ahead of what is happening for Knitwear and fashion , by researching trends for colours, yarns, shapes. Hand-Knitting is great, but we encourage everyone to knit great styles that are in fashion! Also we like to check out and select great yarns that we like to have available for purchase on our Workshop days.

We can do all this, AND soak up the culture and style of the beautiful city of Florence, Italy, when we visit 'Pitti Filati' : a knitwear trend fair held every six months to help the fashion greats including Gucci, Prada, Armani (and The Knitting Academy!) to source and design for their new collections. Let`s Get Cooking!

Here at the Knitting Academy, we believe Hand-Knitting is a lot like making a cake - you need your ingredients, a good receipe, and plenty of trial and error!

Some people like to follow a recipe exactly, they like the cake to come out of the oven just like the picture, but others like to add their own creative spices and colours - they expect a tasty surprise at the end...

At the Knitting Academy we encourage both styles of creativity!

Some people are natural cooks, and others just need a little practice with some good tuition, which one are you? Its just like hand-knitting... If you are a Beginner, and you have lots of creative ideas for colour and texture, or would like to get inspired, we would love to invite you.

So gather up your ideas, your enthusiasm, and come along to our next Beginners workshop, its on July 25th. All your "ingredients" are provided, and there is a Goodie Bag for every new Beginner, individually designed and brimming with crafty items for you to take away!
